A LITTLE CLARITY GOES A LONG WAY.

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Everything from choosing your first cover to caring for the one you already love.

Can I add a cover to my existing in-ground pool?

Usually, yes. Many existing pools can accommodate a deck-mounted top track system. We’ll survey your pool to confirm the right approach.

Can a cover help extend my swimming season?

A closed cover helps retain heat and reduce evaporation. That can make earlier and later swims more practical, depending on your pool, heating system, and the weather.

Can I walk on my cover?

Keep people and pets off the cover. It is a safety barrier for accidental access, not a walking or play surface. Always follow your manufacturer’s instructions.

Can I use my automatic cover during winter?

Some systems can be used through winter with specific care. Water level, snow and ice, drainage, and cover-pump use all matter. Ask us for guidance for your system and follow its owner’s manual.

What should I check before operating the cover?

A knowledgeable adult should operate it with the pool in full view. Before closing, ensure everyone is out and remove toys and floats. Before opening, remove standing water and debris, check the water level, and follow the manufacturer’s temperature limits.

How should I clean my cover?

Use the cleaning method and products approved for your cover fabric. Work in small sections and remove wash water with the recommended equipment. Call us if you’re unsure what is suitable for your cover.

Are wrinkles and folds in the fabric normal?

Some slack is intentional, and fabric changes over time. If wrinkles are new, excessive, or accompanied by uneven operation, ask our team to check the cover.

When should I use the cover pump?

Standing water needs to be managed as directed by your cover and pump manufacturers. Freezing conditions require special care. Follow the relevant manuals and contact us for guidance on your particular system.

Why do I hear a popping noise when the cover moves?

Ropes moving through pulleys and onto the reel can sometimes make noise. A new, persistent, or unusual sound deserves a check—especially if it comes with uneven movement. Contact our team if you’re concerned.

What if my cover is out of alignment?

Stop using a cover that is binding or visibly misaligned and have a trained technician assess it. Rope tension and other adjustments are best handled by an experienced cover specialist.

How do I know when the fabric needs replacing?

Look for brittle fabric, pinholes, water passing through, white mineral deposits in folds, or edge webbing that tears, frays, ripples, or snags. Our team can assess whether repair or replacement is appropriate.

How long does replacement fabric take?

Each fabric is custom made. Timing depends on the manufacturer and season, with May and June often especially busy. Contact us for the current lead time for your system.

How should I prepare for fabric replacement?

Make sure the pool is accessible, the water is at the proper level, power is available, and water and debris have been removed from the cover. Our team will confirm any system-specific and weather requirements.
